"I don't know why I'm just now reviewing this place when it has been my go to Chinese food place for the last 10 years. 1st of all, you will not find better bang for your buck anywhere else! The portions are huge and thats not exaggeration, its just facts and the quality doesn't waiver. In my honest opinion, it is THE BEST portland has to offer. Dining in is seems a little seedy. Ive always been confused if they actually have lottery and or separate bar. Ive actually never been past the entry area. I prefer take out anyways so its never been a problem for me. And last but not least, if ordering out, call it in and use their actual menu which is pretty drastically different than the delivery services though the quality remains. Their actually menu which can be found online has a lot more options and much better deals! Especially when it comes to the combo meals! Overall, give this place a try and you will never go anywhere else, ever again."

"Pretty delicious Salt and Pepper squid. If you like a bunch of peppers is for you. If not. I would suggest getting half the amount of pepper. Priced decent. ---------- Lunch special is a deal. Tried this place again and wasn't disappointed. Orange chicken was good. Better tasting and bigger portion for less than a Panda Express lunch."

"Staff and owner very nice people. Been coming here since 2020 at the recommendation with seniors that have lived here in Portland for years. I recently put up a tik tok about this hidden gem it’s up to 12,000 views and near to 80 comments. Lots of local portlanders in the area grew up eating here. It’s a simple restaurant and in SE Portland they say the hood got the best food! SherieatsFOOD&MUSIC is my Tik Tok. Lots of folks had great things to say about the awesome food, great friendly owners and the folks (usually a young man) that takes our orders. Don’t sleep on this spot for a good place to get food for your celebration gatherings and good fast food. Order the lunch specials if eating in and combination dinners if you’re on a budget. I’m not paid to promote this is honestly a great spot to get yummy Chinese food."

"We found this little place, very unassuming from the outside, but after we ate the food, this is now our number place to go to, when we come to Portland from McMinnville because we don’t have any good Chinese restaurants there anymore. They know how to cook their food. It’s always delicious. And the portions are large enough. We order one dish and if it’s enough for both of us. Today we ordered the Szechuan beef extra extra extra spicy And we’re not disappointed. We’re giving four thumbs up, and we wish we had more thumbs! We came here today to make sure and and get photos before eating! This place is so good we want people to support it!"

"China star is so delicious! I decided to give another try since it’d been a while since I went and it wasn’t so good! But I truly don’t enjoy leaving bad reviews. Let me just say this dinner was AMAZING. Went and picked up two orders on Super Bowl sunday, I got a #8 (four sides) and a #10 for only $25!!! My bf had a full plate and I a smaller plate and we still had a bunch of left overs. 10/10 recommend!"

"The staff is very friendly. The cook is very upbeat. The combination plate i ordered, #5 they serve BIG portions, that I had to ask for a box, it might serve 3 people. Wheelchair friendly, and thankfully i didn't see any kids. It was worth my $13.00"

"I have only been here twice - once for takeout about two years ago and once last night dining in for dinner. The first time, I was impressed with the portions, but not so much with the quality and flavor. This time, I was impressed with both. I got a combo dinner for $10 and was able to take half of it home. The flavor and quality seemed much improved also. I’ll definitely be back. Side note - not much in the way of atmosphere, but the food is worth it!"
